As Christian believers, we are to live a life of prayer. It is our joy and honor to pray for others and is an important part of our Christian life.

Here is a little common sense for how to handle the gas situation. May we all rush out for that as quickly as we do gasoline!

Worrying is normal. The real issues confronting our kids cause our resolve to quake and our insides to melt. But we don't want to stay there. It isn't healthy for us or our relationships. What does Jesus want us to do with our worry?

Ministry is never about me. It is only ever about Jesus.

Slapping Jesus on top of your activity doesn't make it holy and doesn't make it correct. We can't fulfill what God states He hates and then wave a cross over it to make it acceptable.

What would prayer that is preposterous look like? According to Scripture, if we have enough faith, we can pray for things our common sense tells us is silly. The "utterly foolish" can become the completely possible in the Lord’s hands. 

When I pray I want to be like Elijah. He prayed for rain and heard the sound of rushing rain in his ears of faith. The answer to his prayer was so assured he could hear it.

What awkward prayer request is too difficult to share? Jesus is ready for you to come to Him and grab onto His grace through prayer.

No matter what, I must keep praying. I may not see the answer and I may not feel certain my prayers are being heard. But with the lesson of Psalm 130 I know how to keep praying.

My problems spotlight the power and reality of Jesus.  My difficulties are but a platform on which Jesus can shine.

Car trips with a family are great. And awful. And fun. And harrowing.But a little planning can go a long way to ease the bumps and smooth the way.

Praying for our friends and family is a privilege. Praying for our brothers and sisters around the globe who are suffering for their faith is a responsibility. We can't fix everyone's problems, but we can persistently knock on the door of Heaven and call of the Father.

Keeping persistent in prayer can be hard, but when Jesus calls us to "stand at the door and knock" He doesn't tell us how long it will take.

If suffering means you don't have enough faith then Abraham and Sarah wouldn't have been infertile, Jeremiah wouldn't have been weeping, and Paul wouldn't have been imprisoned.

We all want our prayers to be effective, but why does it feel so hard?

These two, beautiful souls, still growing up in my home, need and deserve a fully invested Mom, even if I am experiencing a hot flash when they want to sit down and have a heart to heart talk.
